I qualified from Sheffield University in 1996 and then worked in several general practices in Sheffield, Tamworth and Southwest London gaining extensive experience before buying a partnership in an independent mixed practice in Witney, Oxfordshire in April 2007.In 2001 I undertook a part time PG Certificate course in Restorative Dentistry at the Eastman Dental Institute where I learnt to critically evaluate my dentistry in the various disciplines of restorative dentistry, and it was during this period that I developed an interest in endodontics. Since then, I have completed an MSc in Endodontics at Barts and Royal London / QMUL.Currently I am a council member for the British Endodontic Society (BES).In my spare time I enter various mountain and road biking events and before that I spent the best part of 20 years rowing competitively. I am shortly to start the British rowing coaching qualification courses to help support the next generation of rowers.

Dr. Giuseppe Mainas

He graduated in 2014 at the Alfonso X el Sabio University of Madrid (Spain). In 2015 he moved to Rome (Italy) to frequent the Periodontology department of the G. Eastman Dental Hospital. In 2020, he completed the 3-year full-time Master’s Degree in Periodontology and Implant Dentistry, accredited by the European Federation of Periodontology (EFP), at the International University of Catalunya (Barcelona, Spain). He got a PhD in Clinical Dentistry Research (Periodontology) at King’s College London in 2025. Outside the clinic, he is involved in the academia. He is a Research Associate at the Periodontology Unit at Guy’s Hospital (King’s College London).He has ten-year experience in providing non-surgical gum treatments and surgical gum treatments, including resective procedures, guided tissue regenerations and periodontal plastic surgeries. In addition, he has extensive experience in implant placements and related bone regeneration procedures.He has been awarded the basic Osteology Research Academy Education grants in 2019, the MRC-IAA grant in 2023, the BSP Clinical Fellowship Award in 2023, the BSP Research Grant in 2024 and the FDS-BSP Pump-Priming Research Grant in 2024, the Haleon/ODRT research grant and the advanced Osteology Research Academy Education grants in in 2025, and another advanced Osteology Research Academy Education grants together with the T C White Researcher Grant from the RCPSG in 2026.
